The season begins on the weekday after the final day of school (Districts 33 and 34) and ends in late July with a team picnic. We swim rain or shine. Only lightning and unfavorable pool conditions keep us out of the water.
Practices
AWST practices at the Antioch Aqua Center 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, throughout the season. Swimmers are expected to practice a minimum of 2 times per week in order to swim in meets. Daily practice is recommended (and fun!). Swimmers should be at the pool at least ten minutes before the start of their practice.

Meets
All home meets are held at the Antioch Aqua Center in Williams Park behind the library. Dual meets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Special meets are held on Saturdays (such as Invitationals and the Conference Championship Meet). All swimmers complete a Meet Sign-Up Form showing their intent to swim in meets during the season. If a swimmer commits to a meet but cannot attend, they must inform a coach of the change in writing at least 24 hours prior to the meet.
Events
Additional season events include at least one practice meet, a team/individual picture day, participation in the Antioch Fourth of July parade, and an end-of-season picnic. Our picnic is held the Tuesday after the Conference Meet at the Williams Park pavilion with the pool open to all swimmers and their families. All swimmers will receive their awards during this final fun event.
