The friendly, expert coaching staff have many responsibilities, including:
Maintain the concept of fun within the overall goals of competition.
Conduct daily practices in an organized manner with daily goals.
Provide a clear implementation of fundamentals with strokes and rules.
Discuss meet results after each meet with each age group.
Provide an atmosphere of team unity prior to and during meets.
Provide immediate feedback to each swimmer after swimming his/her respective event and use this information constructively in the following practice session.
Emphasize technique and time improvement with each swimmer.
Develop and recognize individual responsibility and leadership with each swimmer.
Lindsey Fortney
Head Coach
Born and raised in Antioch, Coach Lindsey started her swimming career at age 12 with the Antioch Waves Swim Team. She was Assistant Coach for the Antioch Waves during the summer season of 2001. Afterward, Lindsey was Assistant Coach for the Hastings Lake Stingrays. Lindsey graduated from Antioch Community High School in 2002 and decided to pursue her dream of swimming at the collegiate level. She walked on to the Western Illinois University's D1 swim team where she swam for 2 years. Her main events were the 500 free, 200 butterfly, and 400 IM. She placed in the top 16 in the 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke and 400 IM at the Mid-Continental Conference Meet. In 2004, Lindsey transferred to North Michigan University and walked onto their swim team. She continued to swim the 200 butterfly, 400 IM, and the 500 free, placing within the top 12 in these events at the GLIAC Conference Meet. Lindsey earned her secondary English Education Degree from Northern Michigan University in May of 2007 and is currently an 8th grade teacher at Cactus Middle School in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Caroline Kochmit
Assistant Coach
Caroline graduated from Carthage College this year. She was a Physical Education major with minors in both Spanish and Health and will be student teaching this fall in Kenosha. Caroline swam two seasons at Maine South High School and was also active on the cross-country, track and field, and soccer teams. Of those sports, she loved swimming the most because she thrived on the challenge of it. Caroline chose to continue swimming throughout all four years of college under coach Sue Nutty. She began coaching for the Carthage Master's Team four years ago.
